Misuardine: Stomach Warming

A Filipino dish that’s perfect for a cold weather. It’s a combination of sardines and misua with soup that could give warm to your body. Misua is a thin Chinese noodles which can also be a substitution for your rice since it is also rich in carbohydrates.
Eating can sardines for my lunch was already ideal but since I was experiencing a freezing stomach today I decided to make a dish that has a soup so I’ve able to come up with this dish.
These are the ingredients for my dish today: 1 canned sardines (it should be a tomato based sauce), 100g misua, upo (bottle gourd), sayote, and patola (loofa) (either of the three), onion, garlic, salt and tomato. By the way, if you’re asking why I still put tomato even if the sardines was already a tomato based sauce it’s because I think it can still add taste that make my dish more tastier.
Cooking this is so simple you just have to sauté garlic and onion then put your preferred vegetable and salt. After that put your canned sardines, wait until it boils before adding misua. Wait a little more minutes then serve it hot with rice.
Looking for a perfect warming stomach dish? What are you waiting for? Try this now!

From Eggplant to Squash Omelet

Experiment will lead you to something new.

Yesterday, I’ve shared with you an “Eggplant Omelet” and today I’ll share an experiment dish—“Squash Omelet”.

While I’m on bed last night this is the dish that popped in my mind. (kung pwede itorta ang talong, bakit hindi yong kalabasa diba?) So I try it.

It has the same ingredients as tortang talong except for eggplant. Eggs, salt, pepper, cornstarch (optional), and of course squash.

All you have to do is to beat eggs seasons it with salt and pepper then add cornstarch (you can also add other seasonings you want). Unlike Tortang Talong, you have to skin first the squash before boiling it so that it is easy for to mash it. After mashing, mix it now to your beat eggs. Then that’s it, ready to fry.

Like Eggplant Omelet, it’s also very simple. Try also this, it looks like a pancake and it melts in your mouth. You can also dip it in ketchup.
Crownless Eggplant Omelet in Hurry

An easy and quick to cook Filipino dish that’s good for those people who is always on the hurry. I think in just 10-15 minutes you already enjoy your meal.

Ingredients:
2 eggs
Cornstarch (cornstarch)
Pepper, salt
3 eggplants

First thing to do is boil the eggplant or you can also grill it if you want. While waiting for the eggplants to cook beat now the eggs and season it with salt and pepper then add a small amount of cornstarch. And if the eggplant is already cook, peel off now its skin then flatten it before putting it in your seasoned egg.

It’s perfect dish for your lunch or dinner and even breakfast. And since it’s a simple dish I recommend this for the beginner. Try also this.

Sweet and Sour with a Star

Sweet and sour is a good dish especially for the party because for me this is a kind of dish that can remove of what they say “sawa” in eating. And even children will love the taste of this dish. It’s one of my favorite dishes because the sweetness and sourness of its sauce met. It’s a perfect combination.

It is easy to cook. You’ll need fried fish, cornstarch (you can also use flour), vinegar, sugar, onion, garlic, ketchup for coloring, and carrots or any vegetable you want to include like sayote.

After preparing all the ingredients, sautee garlic and onion, add carrots and other vegetable then put water. If it’s nearly to boil add now cornstarch, ketchup, sugar, vinegar, and a small amount of salt for the sauce.  After that put now your fried fish then wait a little more minute then serve it.

Try this at home and feel the uniqueness and the blending taste of sweet and sour. And aside from this, I have learned that it is also a very healthy dish since their ingredients have different kinds of vitamins and nutrients which are very good to the body.

Sinigang na Baboy: A typhoon Shield

We are now in a rainy season, so we encounter typhoons more often. And whenever we experience this chilled weather we usually cooked foods that has a hot soup to warm our freezing stomach.

It’s like what I did when typhoon “juaning” hits Bicol. I still cooked even our house was flooded just to make it sure that we’ve able to shield our body from the cold weather. Good thing before the typhoon strikes I’ve able to go to the market so I have all the ingredients I’ll need.

Because of the cold weather I decided to make “Sinigang na Baboy” for our lunch. It’s quick and easy to cook. I put cabbage, saba and string beans in my sinigang.

Boil water first before putting your sliced pork and salt. Wait until it boils again then put now all the vegetable you prepared. Wait until it cooks. And that’s it in just a short time you’ll enjoy your meal.

You can also enjoy this famous Filipino dish at your home especially this season. Warm your stomach and shield your body from any other typhoons. Feel the real taste of pork with a variety of ingredients. It’s perfect!
2in1 Adobo: Dish to Sandich

Adobo was a well know food here in the Philippines. Meron nga tayong kanya-kanyang luto ng adobo eh.! And of course most of the foods are cooked adobo. Masarap naman talaga kasi.  And sometimes we add extra ingredients just to make sure that it will tastes good and “swak sa ating panlasa” like fruits.

But in my chicken adobo I didn’t add extra ingredients though I have my own style in preparing it. I will marinade first the chicken to the garlic, lemon, sugar, and soy sauce in 15-20 minutes to make the chicken tastier. And while waiting for that I will now prepare other ingredients that I will be using in cooking it.

I now prepared the garlic and union then skinned the carrots and potatoes and sliced it into cubes. And after that I sautee the garlic and union then add now the marinated chicken and I put also an amount of water to cook the chicken. After a minute put now the soy sauce (you can also used the sauce that you used to marinade the chicken), a small amount of vinegar and sugar then taste it if it’s already suite to your taste.  Oops.! By the way don’t forget to put your vegetable wait until it cooked then serve it now with rice.

It’s really a good for your meal. And just in case you have leftover adobo, you don’t have to worry because you can still use it as another ingredient for another recipe. Remember the “Chicken Adobo Sandwich” I’d shared with you? Yes, after a perfect meal you can now make sandwich for your snack or breakfast. And it means that there is no waste in your adobo. Sabi nga nila “kung gusto maraming paraan.”

“Canope: Roll it Baby, Roll it”—Friday

The last sandwich I will share with you guys was the sandwich I learned from a friend of mine. I’d remember when I asked her what sandwich she really like; she answered me “Canope.” CANOPE.?! What’s that.? That was the first time I heard that food so I asked her how to prepare it so I can also try it.

After she taught me how to make this sandwich I tried it immediately in our home when I got my free time. I done it the way she told me how and I assure you it’s delicious. Actually my cousins and sister approved also this crunchy sandwich.

And this day was the second time I’m gonna make this sandwich. I’m so excited to share this also to you.
We need bread, crispy fry, egg, cheese, hum and bell pepper. If you already prepared all the ingredients you need now to flat the bread using glass bottle or even glass (it’s up to you), put the sliced hum, cheese, and bell pepper diagonally on the flatten bread then roll it. After that dip it into the egg and roll it again in the crispy fry then fry it.

Experience the crispy “canope” with your family or friends. Don’t you try to miss the perfect combination of bell pepper, hum plus the melting cheese. If you taste it, you can’t say a single word, you just want to concentrate and feel the soothing taste of this sandwich.

“Sandwich Plaza: Egg with Hum Sandwich”

This day I’ll share with you the sandwich I learned from my mother. When I was in high school my mother used to make this for my breakfast because according to her it’s good to start your day with this kind of food since it have an egg that is good for your health.

Nothing’s spectacular in this sandwich it is just typical egg sandwich that most of you knew I just add hum on it (para my version ko din). Of course first you have the boil the egg and crushed it into pieces then add mayonnaise, pepper, union, salt and sugar if you want. Then put it to your bread on the top of your hum. You can also put designs to make it more attracted and cute.

It’s good for your breakfast especially if you’re loaded with work and since they considered eggs a ‘complete’ food it’s also perfect for your lunch and dinner.

“One Beep: One Cheese Sandwich”

            “Boy: Screw ka ba.?
             Girl: Bakit.?
Boy: Kasi habang pinipihit kita lalo kang bumabauon sa puso ko.”

I was thinking of what sandwich I’m gonna make then minute after my cellphone beep and that’s the message I’d received. “Cheesy” that’s the first word that came out in my mouth and that also give me an idea of what sandwich I going to try this day.

Since I loved eating something cheese I used to buy this kind of sandwich when I was in high school. The problem is I don’t know how to make it. But because we are now in the modern world I’ve able to know how prepare this “Cheese Grilled Sandwich,” just search it on the net.

After knowing how to make it I didn’t waste any time to make my own cheese sandwich. Oops.! I’m so excited to try it. I really got a watery mouth when it comes to cheese.

I crushed first the cheese and prepared two cubes of butter. Then it’s time for me to cook. Melt the butter in the pan before putting the sliced bread with cheese and the second slice bread on the top. Then flip it over and over until its golden brown. In just 15 minutes I already have my favorite cheese sandwich.

This toasted sandwich will make you smile in every bite. And even though you’re not a cheese lover you’ll enjoy the unforgettable taste of this sandwich.

“Mini Monster: Chicken Adobo Sandwich”

I’d just discovered this sandwich when I’m preparing my burger sandwich yesterday. I saw this recipe in the bottle of the mayonnaise I used. When I saw the image in the bottle I didn’t hesitate to try it and share it with you.

Like any sandwiches I knew it is also easy to prepare. The main ingredient of this was a leftover chicken adobo so somehow you can also save some money for it. All you have to do is shred your leftover chicken then cook it in oil with garlic and add some mayonnaise. Then you can put it now to your bread and spread mayonnaise on the top. And that’s it, as simple as that you’ll have your chicken adobo sandwich.

Kill your curiosity; you would not want to miss this sandwich especially when you have a craving stomach. Try this also and experience the moist and long lasting taste of chicken adobo.

“Sandwich burger from my heart”

Today, when I woke up I remembered someone whom I used to give this burger sandwich so I think this is the first sandwich I’ll share with you. Giving this sandwich is one of my ways of showing someone how special he is.

So you can also try this to express how you feel or to make someone feel special. Just like what the adage said “the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” And I assure you if you exert effort of what you do he/she will definitely appreciate it.

You don’t need to spend much money in making this sandwich because in less than one hundred pesos you can already make 15-20 sandwiches but of course it depends on the sizes of your burger.

You’ll need 175g of karne norte, shredded carrots, 2 eggs, cornstarch, pepper, cheese, union, and garlic and of course oil for your burger. All you have to do is mix all the ingredients in a medium size bowl then fried it. And after frying put it now in your two sliced bread then top it with ketchup, mayonnaise and cheese. In just a minute you’ll have a yummy homemade burger that you can also share to your love ones or friend. Try it now and rest assure you’ll never forget the real taste burger.
